Visual Design: Bilingual Institutional Communication
Two public-facing design assignments that turn complex programme information into clear, brand-aligned and action-oriented communication materials.

01
Overview
Context and purpose
This case combines an event brochure for UNESCO’s “ICH as Fashion” programme with a recruitment poster for the 2026 Young Masters for Heritage Conservation.
My contribution
What I was responsible for
- 01
Translated programme briefs, schedules, eligibility requirements and institutional background into a clear communication structure.
- 02
Organized bilingual source information, resolved hierarchy across headings, body copy, dates, calls to action and partner credits, and kept key details easy to scan.
- 03
Developed layouts, typography, colour relationships and image placement that worked with UNESCO and partner branding while giving each programme a distinct visual identity.
- 04
Edited and checked content as part of the design process, reducing the risk of visual polish masking missing, inconsistent or hard-to-find information.
- 05
Prepared public-facing outputs for programme promotion and online recruitment, connecting content judgment with production-ready visual execution.

Process & evidence
ICH as Fashion brochure
The brochure introduced a two-year UNESCO-led capacity-building programme connecting intangible cultural heritage bearers, fashion students and emerging designers. My task was to turn programme background, the UNESCO framework, objectives and public-facing messages into a structured visual sequence. The layout uses a strong editorial grid, repeated brand colours and clear heading levels so that readers can understand the programme before moving into its detailed structure.

Process & evidence
Young Masters Recruitment Poster
The recruitment poster uses Suzhou historic gardens as the visual theme while keeping the programme theme, target audience, application period, workshop timing, eligibility, hosts and contact details visible within one composition. The key design problem was prioritization: a potential applicant should recognize the programme, understand its relevance and find the next step without searching through dense copy. The official UNESCO page linked below shows the poster in its published recruitment context.

Outcome & reflection
Why this project matters
My competitive advantage is the ability to bridge content and design. I can receive a complex institutional brief, identify what different audiences need to understand or do, and carry the work through information architecture, bilingual organization, visual execution and quality control.
